Statement from Autos Drive America on Implementation of the U.S.-Japan Trade Agreement

Jennifer Safavian, President and CEO of Autos Drive America, today released the following statement in response to President Trump’s Executive Order on the U.S.- Japan trade agreement:

“As the leading voice for international automakers in the United States, Autos Drive America is pleased by President Trump’s implementation of the United States–Japan trade agreement. This marks an important step toward a more stable and predictable trade environment that will help ensure that American consumers continue to benefit from a wide range of affordable vehicle choices, while also reducing costs for auto manufacturers operating in the U.S. Most importantly, it reaffirms the decades-long economic partnership between the United States and Japan. We urge the White House to finalize and implement similar deals with our key trading partners, including the EU, South Korea, Mexico, and Canada.”
