Autos Drive America’s Statement Following Senate Finance Committee’s USMCA Hearing

February 12, 2026

Autos Drive America today released the following statement after the Senate Finance Committee’s hearing to evaluate the USMCA and North American competitiveness:

“The Senate Finance Committee’s decision to focus their first hearing of 2026 on the USMCA highlights the importance of the agreement to the entire U.S. economy, especially to the U.S. auto industry.

“A stable and predictable trade environment is vital for capital-intensive industries like the automotive sector. The USMCA has provided stability that has helped guide the billions of dollars of investments international automakers are making in the United States, creating thousands of manufacturing jobs and providing economic engines for communities across the country. To continue to reap the benefits of these investments and to ensure that the U.S. and North America remain competitive in the global automotive industry, it is essential that the USMCA continues.”

International automakers sold 88% of the U.S.-made affordable vehicles bought by Americans last year.
