Autos Drive America Statement of Support for WIOA Reauthorization

April 27, 2026

“International automakers have invested more than $124 billion in the United States, support millions of American jobs, and directly employ more 162,000 workers. A strong, skilled workforce is essential to the future of auto manufacturing in the U.S. Autos Drive America supports workforce legislation that preserves and strengthens proven, employer‑focused training approaches, including on‑the‑job upskilling, better alignment with in‑demand jobs, and improved accountability for program outcomes. The Stronger Workforce for America Act reflects many of these long‑standing priorities, and Autos Drive America appreciates the important work of the House Education and Workforce Committee to move this bill forward. Autos Drive America and our members will continue to engage with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle as Congress works toward solutions that support workers, manufacturers, and America’s manufacturing competitiveness.”

New research from Autos Drive America showcases how international automakers are driving the U.S. affordable vehicle market.
