Autos Drive America Responds to the Administration’s Decision to Lower Reciprocal Tariffs, Urges Policy Makers to Reconsider Automotive Tariffs

April 10, 2025

While we appreciate the decision to lower reciprocal tariff rates, the 25 percent tariff on autos and auto parts are still in effect. They continue to pose challenges to growth, investment, and competitiveness across the U.S. auto industry. These duties raise costs for manufacturers, suppliers, and ultimately consumers. In addition, the ongoing uncertainty surrounding these tariffs disrupts the automotive supply chain at a time when stability is essential to the industry’s health and long-term viability. We urge policymakers to pursue a solution that supports growing the U.S. auto industry, lowers costs for consumers, and protects American jobs.”
