Autos Drive America Expands Government Affairs Team

Trade association hires veteran Capitol Hill staffer, government affairs professional Peter Comstock

WASHINGTON, D.C.Autos Drive America, the leading trade association representing international automakers in the U.S., today welcomed Peter Comstock as its new Senior Director of Government Affairs. In his role, Comstock will promote the Association’s policy goals on behalf of international automakers in Congress, state legislatures, and the Executive Branch.

“International automakers are a vital part of the U.S. automotive industry and economy, and Autos Drive America is committed to advancing policies that support America’s automotive workforce,” said Jennifer Safavian, president and CEO of Autos Drive America. “Peter’s extensive experience in government affairs and on Capitol Hill will immediately strengthen our advocacy efforts on behalf of our member companies and the more than 156,000 Americans they directly employ. Autos Drive America and our members are thrilled to welcome Peter to our team.”

Prior to joining Autos Drive America, Comstock was Senior Director of Legislative Affairs at the Associated Builders and Contractors, where he worked on issues related to workforce and education, labor, tax, trade, immigration, and health care at the federal level. Comstock also served on Capitol Hill for more than nine years, working for Rep. French Hill (R-AR), Rep. Tim Griffin (R-AR), and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK).
