Autos Drive America Applauds Tariff Relief for U.S. Automakers

WASHINGTON—Jennifer Safavian, President and CEO of Autos Drive America, today released the following statement in response to the announcement of tariff relief for the U.S. auto industry:

“International automakers welcome the Trump administration’s decision to support U.S. auto production by providing meaningful tariff relief for manufacturers producing vehicles and engines in the U.S.  International automakers are part of the foundation of auto manufacturing in the United States, with more than $124 billion invested in U.S. operations and more than 2.4 million jobs supported across the country. Today’s announcement recognizes that bringing new manufacturing and supply chains to the United States cannot be done overnight. Every dollar spent on tariffs is a dollar that cannot be spent on our U.S. investment, and we look forward to continuing to work together with the Trump administration to grow the entire U.S. auto industry.”
