Honda Transmission Plant in Georgia Celebrates 20 Years of Operation

Honda associates celebrated the long legacy of transmission production in Tallapoosa, Georgia today, as the Honda Transmission Manufacturing Plant in Georgia (TMP-G) marked its 20th anniversary.  The plant is the exclusive source of the 10-speed automatic transmission in Honda and Acura vehicles built in the U.S.

Since TMP-G began production of 5-speed transmissions on May 12, 2006, Honda associates in Georgia have built more than five million transmissions. Honda has more than doubled its workforce in Georgia since 2006, growing to nearly 500 associates, and with a total investment of more than $485 million the plant has the annual capacity to build 375,000 transmissions.
