Autos Drive America Applauds President Trump’s “America’s Talent Strategy”

WASHINGTON Autos Drive America today sent a letter to Trump administration officials applauding the President’s “America’s Talent Strategy” and highlighting the long-term workforce development investments international automakers are making across the United States.

“International automakers are deeply committed to helping develop the next generation of U.S. manufacturing talent,” said Jennifer Safavian, President & CEO of Autos Drive America. “We look forward to working with the Administration and Congress to expand opportunities and ensure today’s workers have the skills to build successful careers in the U.S. auto industry for decades to come.”

The letter outlines the industry’s decades-long commitment to building strong talent pipelines through apprenticeships, technical training, STEM partnerships, and advanced manufacturing programs and describes how these efforts have opened thousands of high-quality career pathways for America’s workers.

Autos Drive America’s members have consistently invested in their workforce development programs, creating a skills pipeline that will give Americans the opportunity to thrive in a career in U.S. auto manufacturing. According to Autos Drive America’s 2025 Economic Impact Report:

  • 75% of Autos Drive America’s members participated in workforce development programs in 2024;
  • 42% of Autos Drive America’s member programs focus on upskilling and reskilling the current workforce to meet the needs of the evolving industry; and
  • Nearly 75% of all workforce development partnerships with international automakers came from high schools, colleges and universities, and technical and vocational schools.
