Jennifer Safavian, President and CEO of Autos Drive America, released the following statement today in response to President Trump’s decision to impose 25 percent tariffs on Canada and Mexico:
“American consumers are facing record-high prices due to inflation and affordability is the number one concern for car buyers today. We are disappointed the U.S., Mexico and Canada could not reach a solution to avoid tariffs, which will undermine North American supply chains and cause costs to rise for U.S. auto manufacturers, and ultimately, the consumer. We urge the three countries to find a swift resolution that maintains the strength of the North American auto manufacturing sector.”
